Meet Patricia A. D. Braun, M.D.
Over the next few years she began to realize that conventional medicine invariably treated symptoms rather than cause, even when the
cause could be found and the condition improved or reversed. By 1985 she was practicing what conventional practitioners would call
"alternative" medicine, but she would argue by saying it's medicine that simply makes sense. She calls it her private practice of
Nutritional and Preventative Medicine and Chronic Illness Care.
Dr. Braun
and her husband with the help of their son and his family raise as much of their own food as possible. This is done responsibly by
adhering to the concepts of sustainability by applying natural products to their grazing fields and collecting the resultant digestive
byproducts (manure) from their cattle, horses, goats and chickens to produce nutritious and tasty vegetables and fruit completely
without the use of any salt based fertilizers or harmful herbicides, pesticides and fungicides. They also hunt and gather the natural
food that their land provides.
Her favorite phrase is, "There is no medical condition that properly applied nutrition won't
help." Her hobbies are gardening, hunting and reading. She plays the piano and sings. Patients often hear her humming a tune and join
in for a chorus or two! She enjoys classical music and jazz.
Dr. Braun is a native Texan born in Carthage, growing up in Port Arthur. She received her Bachelor of Science degree with honors in
1962 from Lamar State University in Beaumont, graduating in just three years. She attended Southwestern Medical School, in Dallas
and received her Doctorate of Medicine in 1966. After completing a rotating internship, in 1971, she completed a four year residency
in Pathology. She is a specialist member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. After raising her family, she began a full
time general practice in the Dallas area, becoming a member of the American Academy of Family Practice in 1981.
Yes, It's Doc!
